You are correct, but I'm one of the few who probably already knew this information. This is why the Second Amendment was placed in the Bill of Rights. The Founding Fathers did not want firearms to ever be confiscated from the people. It is why there is no provision for a standing army in the Constitution. The British Army is the one who tried to confiscate the arms and powder of the colonists.
